As we mentioned last time, the 26th EPL matchweek is different than any other before. For the first time in history, the Premier League teams have a winter break as they play 1 round separated over 2 weekends. In the previous round though, only 3 matches were played. The fixture between Manchester City and West Ham United was canceled due to bad weather conditions. Nevertheless, the 2nd part of the matchweek has more games and few of them promise to be very exciting. Wolves will host the Foxes on Friday night as they hope to get back to winning ways. On the other hand, Liverpool will play away to Norwich on Saturday. Last but not least, we have to mention the derby between Chelsea and Manchester United which will be played on Monday night. More about all of this below, in our weekly Premier League predictions for the upcoming matchweek.

The Wolves are having a very good season in the Premier League; however, lately they have succumbed to a run of bad results. With just 1 win in 5 rounds, Nuno’s side is risking losing pace with the TOP 6. At the moment, things are not looking up because now they have to face one of the best teams in the league. Last season, this fixture was a fantastic one and Wolves eventually emerged as winners with a 4:3 result. It was Jota who scored in stoppage time to give them the 3 points. While football fans will be hoping for a similar encounter, Wolves fans are expecting their team to manage an easier win. However, that’s easier said than done because Leicester are looking to get back to the 2nd position on the table.
The Foxes have managed just 2 wins in the last 5 rounds which is why Manchester City went above them on the EPL table. Injuries have been troubling them at the moment but the squad is slowly but surely getting back on track. Facing Wolves right now wasn’t the best thing but that’s the schedule. They have had a lot of trouble with them in the last couple of years, even in the season when they won the Premier League. Nuno’s side is difficult to crack especially when they are playing at home but Leicester are desperate for points at the moment and they have to try and bring all 3 points back home. However, they haven’t defeated the Wolves in this fixture since 2006 when both sides were playing in the Championship.
The odds for both sides to win this fixture are extremely close to each other which is why it’s very hard to predict the outcome. Both sides play strong defense and counter-attacking offense and that’s why a lot of their meetings finished with draws. At the moment Wolves are struggling performance wise but they do have the home turf advantage. We are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome.

The Canaries started the season in a good way; however, with time the quality of the other sides overwhelmed them. At the moment, they are the last team in the league and are 7 points behind the team that’s just above the relegation zone. To make things worse, they are now playing against the table leaders, a side that’s adamant on breaking all Premier League records this season. They are unbeaten so far and won’t let Norwich destroy that dream. In the reverse fixture, Liverpool walked away with a 4:1 victory. This time, Norwich have the home ground but it’s hard to believe that they can create an upset on Saturday. The Canaries have never beaten Liverpool in their history and it’s unlikely that it will happen any time soon.
The Reds are already champions of the Premier League because it’s impossible to lose a 22 point lead 13 rounds before the end of season. However, they still have a lot to play for, especially records that haven’t been broken in years. They have a chance to become the squad that has won the league with the most points, best goals scored/goals conceded ratio, etc. Nevertheless, the most important record they can break are Wenger’s invincible’s with Arsenal. There is a special trophy for clubs who manage to win the league without suffering a single defeat. Only Arsenal have managed that in history and Liverpool are in perfect position to break that record. Their opponents on Saturday have never defeated them and are often victims to a Liverpool rampage where they score more than 3 goals against them.
When it comes to this fixture, everything goes in favor of Liverpool. They are facing the worst team in the league while they possess the best squad who is performing admirably. All the odds are in their favor so a simple victory for Liverpool doesn’t bring any real value. For that reason, we are backing a – 1.75 Asian Handicap.
Chelsea vs Manchester United >> click here for live odds
The hosts from London are facing hard times as they have only won 1 match in the last 5 rounds. Both Sheffield United and the Spurs are now dangerously close to taking their 4th spot on the table, especially if they fail to win against United on Monday night. They have already lost twice to this Manchester side this year. As a matter of fact, at the start of the season, United defeated them 4:0 on Old Trafford. Chelsea will be looking for revenge as they can’t afford to drop more points at the moment. Injuries are plaguing the squad but Lampard has to find a way to pick his team up and lead them to victory on Monday. They have the home ground advantage and Stamford Bridge is always a hard place to play, no matter which side is visiting.
The Red Devils are in no better form than Chelsea at the moment. They too have just 1 win in the last 5 rounds and are not performing very well. The draw they played against Wolves in the last round showed promise for Ole’s side but they will need much more than that through the rest of the season. Rushford will be out of a lengthy period and it seems without him United are unable to score goals. Nevertheless, they are still close to the TOP 4 as just 6 points separate them from Chelsea. If they manage to win on Monday, that lead will be cut to 3 points. United haven’t lost at the Bridge in the Premier League since 2017 and their fans will be hoping that doesn’t change.
Both sides are struggling at the moment which makes this fixture impossible to predict. Chelsea do have the home turf advantage but in derby matches that can prove to be non-important. That’s why instead of picking a winner we decided to back an Over 2.5 Goals outcome.
