The 18th Premier League round is upon us and it’s showing promise to be a very eventful one. Liverpool traveled for their Club World Cup competition so they won’t be playing this weekend. We will have Everton facing Arsenal on Saturday. Both teams are now with new coaches with Ancelotti taking the reins at Everton and club legend Arteta taking over at Arsenal. Both sides are struggling at the moment and this fixture will surely be interesting. Additionally, we will have Manchester City against Leicester City later on Saturday as well. Last but not least, we have to mention Sunday’s London derby between Tottenham and Chelsea. More about all of this below, in our weekly Premier League predictions for the upcoming matchweek.

The Magpies needed to hit rock bottom in order to realize that a change in the club has to be made. Coach Silva was sacked as Everton fell down to the relegation zone after losing to Liverpool a couple of rounds ago. However, the team is looking much better at the moment. They managed to defeat Chelsea and play a draw against United at Old Trafford. Everton are having a very tough schedule as well since now they have to play against Arsenal. They appointed Ancelotti as coach which rocked the football world. He is a coach that has won the Champions League with 3 different teams and Everton is an unusual choice for him. Nevertheless, getting a new coach is not enough. The fans will need to see some results first.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are in a similar position to Everton even though they are higher on the table. With just 22 points after 17 rounds, the Gooners are having their worst season in years. Since Emery was fired, Arsenal have managed a win against West Ham but then in the last round, they lost to Manchester City. In that match, Arsenal looked clueless as the Citizens walked away with a very easy win. However, with the new coach who was a club legend in the past, Arsenal might be looking at a positive future. Of course, Arteta can’t fix all their problems in one game but maybe he can motivate the players to give it their best.
This is a fixture that would always be hard to predict. With the situation as it is right now, it’s even harder to pick a winner between the two. Both sides are desperate for points which is why we are backing an Over 2.5 Goals outcome.

The holding champions bounced right back from their defeat against Manchester United 2 rounds ago. In the last matchweek, the Citizens played a very good match against Arsenal and won 3:0. However, now they have to face one of the strongest teams in the league. As a matter of fact, Leicester are above them on the table. With a victory, City will be able to come within a point of Leicester. Guardiola has found the missing link in the midfield in the form of Foden who is City’s next star. If they continue to play like they have been in the last 2 weeks, City could be back to their usual self.
The Foxes, on the other hand, had a very uneventful match against Norwich in the last round. They played a 1:1 draw which saw them fall 10 points behind table leaders Liverpool. To make things worse now they have to face the holding champions away from home. Coach Rodgers will have to lift his team up and find a way to get a positive result against City. The blues from Manchester have already dropped a lot of points in front of their own fans. Against Leicester, they will go all out and if the Foxes are not prepared for it, they could lose the same way that Arsenal lost in the last round.
Here we have another fixture that’s very hard to predict. Experts believe that City are massive favorites for this one even though the Foxes have shown that they can beat anyone. Rodgers is one of the best tactical coaches out there and if someone knows how to stop City it would be him. For that reason, we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome.
Tottenham vs Chelsea >> click here for live odds
Last but not least, we have the long awaited London derby which will see Mourinho face his old team. Chelsea was the place where he won the most medals as he was their coach on two occasions. Now he will be sitting on the opposite side, leading Tottenham in the process. The Spurs were sitting at the 14th place when Mourinho arrived and are now 5th which shows Mourinho’s tactics are working wonders for the Tottenham squad. They have 4 wins in the last 5 round in the Premier League and are now facing Chelsea who are right above them. With a win, Tottenham will move above them which would put them in a Champions League spot.
Lampard’s side, on the other hand, is going through a tough period. Since they have a limited squad, a couple of injuries have put the London Blues in a very bad position. They have lost 4 out of the last 5 of their matches in the Premier League and allowed Tottenham to creep up on them. Chelsea can’t afford another loss because they will drop out of the TOP 4. Having to face their former boss makes it even worse; however, it might work as a boost to the players. It worked wonders for United’s squad when they played against Mourinho’s side and defeated them just to spite him.
London derby’s are always hard to predict. This is especially true when the derby comes with the added drama of coach Mourinho. The fans at Tottenham still don’t support him because of his antics during his period as a coach at both Chelsea and United. For that reason, Chelsea’s players might be eager to defeat him; however, that’s easier said than done. That’s why we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome.
