La Liga Betting Predictions

Welcome to our predictions for the 16th round of the Spanish La Liga. The last one had some amazing fixtures even though they didn’t impact the table all too much. Barcelona traveled to Madrid and faced Atletico in what was a very tight affair. However, Messi scored in the dying minutes of the match as Barcelona took home all 3 points. Atletico’s loss allowed Real Sociedad to climb over them on the table. Bilbao, Sevilla, and Real Madrid all won their matches as well as all of them together finish the TOP 6. In other news, Valencia won their fixture against Villarreal and climbed further up the table. In the next round, Barcelona and Real Madrid have fairly easy fixtures; however, Atletico have another tough fixture in front of them. They have to face Villarreal in what will surely be an exciting fixture. However, more about that below in our La Liga predictions.

The “Yellow Submarine” is in some real trouble at the moment. They played just 1 draw in the last 5 rounds as 4 losses saw them drop to the 13th position on the table. Their schedule is also very hard which is making things even worse. They are on the back of a defeat against Valencia and will now have to host Atletico de Madrid, a side that just lost to Barcelona in the last round. There is one positive thing for Villarreal and it’s the fact that Atletico haven’t defeated them at home since 2015. Last year, this fixture finished 1:0 in favor of Villarreal and their fans will be hoping for something similar.

Just 1 win in the last 5 rounds has seen Atletico drop to the 6th position on the table. In the previous round, they had chances against Barcelona, even hit the woodwork; however, it was the Catalans who took home all 3 points. Atletico now find themselves in risk of falling even further down the table. They have to face a top side away from home in a fixture where Villarreal absolutely has to win a match. Additionally, Atletico haven’t had luck when travelling to the “Estadio de la Ceramica” in recent years. Simeone will have to think outside the box if Atletico are to get 3 points on Friday.

Recent results have made it impossible to pick a winner for this fixture. Both sides are desperate for points and can’t afford to lose one more game. Atletico are playing better while Villarreal have home side advantage. This pretty much evens them out which is why we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome.

In the last round, Madrid managed to win a very hard encounter away to Alaves. Ramos opened the scoring in the 2nd half but Alaves got a goal as well. Eventually, Madrid scored another one but the 3 points weren’t in the bag until the last whistle. The outcome saw them grab the top position on the table until later that night when Barcelona reclaimed the throne. Madrid are doing very well at the moment but they are not dominating matches which might backfire for them when they meet a stronger side. However, this round they are facing a very timid Espanyol side at home so Madrid should have no trouble getting all 3 points.

While their Catalan counterparts have been dominating the league in the last decade, Espanyol are losing track with every passing season. So far, it has been the worst season for them as they are located in the relegation zone with just 9 points from 15 rounds. They need to wake up soon or they will find themselves a part of the Segunda Division next year. They have the largest goal conceded number out of all the teams which means their defense is the main problem. If they are to get a positive result against Madrid, Espanyol need to play their best football.

It’s hard to look past Real Madrid for this fixture. On top of that, they are playing at home while Espanyol are not giving signs of improvement. For that reason, we are backing a Home Side Victory & Over 2.5 Goals outcome.

The Catalans finally seem like they are putting all the pieces of their giant puzzle together. They need to improve defensively but their attack is getting better with every passing match. In the last round, they played a hard fixture against Atletico. The rain was pouring at the Wanda and Barcelona entered with several key injuries. It was a tight match which was eventually decided by a touch of brilliance from the little magician Messi. He has been in top form since he returned from injury and Barcelona are finally looking like a team that can win anything. In the next round, they are hosting Mallorca who are struggling with relegation. Barcelona should have no problem getting all 3 points on Saturday.

As it was expected before the season started, Mallorca are going to be fighting against relegation all the way until the last match of the season. At the moment, they are just 1 point above the relegation zone and unlucky for them, they have to travel to the Camp Nou. If they lose and Celta win their match, Mallorca will fall down to the relegation zone. There have been matches where they surprised Barcelona through the history. Back in 2010 they played a draw at the Camp Nou so their fans will be hopeful for something similar to that.

With Barcelona on the rise at the moment, it’s hard to look past them for this fixture. They can’t lose points at the moment and Mallorca are struggling at the moment. That’s why we are backing a – 2.5 Asian Handicap outcome.
