La Liga Betting Predictions

Unlike past seasons, La Liga has a very interesting title race this time. As a matter of fact, a team like Getafe is 3rd on the table which was unthinkable just a couple of seasons ago. They surprised Valencia in the previous round with a 3-0 victory. Nevertheless, the situation is very interesting at the top as well. Real Madrid had a small scare against Osasuna but managed to win. Barcelona, on the other hand, played an extremely tough match against Betis. In the next round, the table leaders will face struggling Celta Vigo while the Catalans will be playing home against Getafe. Both matches won’t be easy but its Atletico Madrid who have the toughest job. They are opening the round on Friday with an away match against Valencia. However, more about that below in our La Liga predictions.

The hosts seemed bent on going up to the 4th position on the table. However, in the last round, they suffered a huge setback. It was a very unexpected result but Valencia ended up losing 3:0 to Getafe. Thanks to other results going in their favor, they are still just 2 points off the 4th position on the table. As a matter of fact, in this round they are playing against the team that currently holds that position. If they manage to beat Atletico, Valencia will surely move up the table. Their opponents on Friday have a lot of injuries so Valencia need to take advantage of that. However, statistics don’t go in their favor because they haven’t beaten Atletico Madrid since 2014.

After 2 losses and a draw, Simeone’s side finally managed to get back to winning ways. It was a very tough match against Granada and it was ultimately settled by one goal. Atletico used their home turn advantage and one goal in Granada’s net was enough to get all 3 points. Nevertheless, their performance was sub-par and they will need to improve if they are to beat Valencia away from home. Their biggest problem is the huge list of injuries that the squad has. All their number 1 attackers are still questionable; however, they will start featuring in the coming weeks which will be a great boost for Atletico just before the Champions League returns to action. They have been having great results against Valencia in the last couple of seasons so their fans will hope for something similar on Friday.

Quality and performance wise, both teams are pretty much equal at the moment. Valencia have the home turf advantage while Atletico Madrid hold the better record against them. Valencia hasn’t defeated them in more than 5 years and they will try to keep it that way. For that reason, we are backing Both Teams to Score.

The Catalans played one of the toughest games this season last round against Betis. It was a rollercoaster game which they ultimately won but not without total drama on the field. The game finished with tons of yellow cards for both sides including one red card for each team. Barcelona lost Clement Lenglet to a red card which will be a problem in the coming fixtures, especially since Pique is nursing a small injury. They can consider themselves lucky to play at home because the Camp Nou has been a real fortress this season. At the moment, Real Madrid are 3 points above them and Barcelona can’t afford to drop any points at the moment. The Champions League is back in action next week so the Catalans will have to win the match on Saturday with a rotated squad.

The visitors are the surprise of the whole La Liga this season. They played great football last year as well but it seems that they improved even further. At the moment, they are sitting 3rd in La Liga just 7 points off 2nd placed Barcelona. In the previous round, Getafe defeated Valencia 3:0 so they will be traveling to Barcelona in high spirits. However, statistics are not on their side when it comes to facing Barcelona. Even though they created a lot of trouble for Barcelona in the last couple of seasons, they never really managed to beat them. As a matter of fact, they haven’t won a match against Barcelona in La Liga since 2011. Additionally, they have never won against the Catalans at Camp Nou. Nevertheless, Barcelona are not at their best this year and they have a lot of injuries at the moment. If Getafe limit their defensive mistakes, they could surprise them on Saturday.

Quality and performance wise, Barcelona are absolute favorites for this fixture. To add to that, the Catalans are playing exceptionally well at home. However, they are not at their best at the moment and Getafe should be able to at least score a goal against them. For that reason, we are backing a Home Side Victory & Over 2.5 Goals outcome.

Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo >> click here for live odds

The table leaders had a little scare in the last round against Osasuna when their opponents scored first. However, they were concentrated enough to turn things around and win the match. That win was their 5th in a row in the league which is how they are still 3 points above Barcelona on the table. Their statistics against Celta have been excellent in the last couple of seasons as they haven’t lost to them in La Liga since 2014. As a matter of fact, the last time Madrid lost to Celta while playing at home was back in 2006 which was a long time ago. This year Celta are having one of the worst seasons ever and they are barely above the relegation zone. Real Madrid should take advantage of that and walk away with 3 easy points on Sunday night.

The visitors are having one of the worst seasons in their history. Usually, Celta are located in the top part of the table; however, this season they are fighting relegation. They came back from behind against Sevilla in the last round and took 3 points for the first time since November. That result got them out of the relegation zone but just by 2 points. If they lose to Madrid on Sunday, chances are Celta will be right back there. They haven’t had a positive result against Madrid in years but Celta really need a win on Sunday if they are going to survive this season. Madrid have a couple of injuries and they will also have to rotate their squad because the Champions League is upon them. Celta need to take advantage of that and at least try to get a positive result.

At the moment, Real Madrid are absolute favorites to win this fixture. They are playing great, sitting 1st on the table, and are facing one of the worst performing teams in La Liga right now. However, Celta won’t just roll over and let Madrid walk over them. For that reason, we are backing that the Home Side won’t Score in Both Halves.
