Saturday brings the last matches of the 9th round of European Qualifiers. These matches can secure qualification for the Euro 2020 for certain nations; however, some of them are already out of the competition. On the other hand, there are a couple of countries that will get a chance to qualify in the last round that starts on Sunday. Below you will find previews for Saturday’s matches.
Cyprus vs Scotland >> click here for live odds
Cyprus and Scotland have both been out of the competition for some time now. The hosts are in a worse position because Scotland is guaranteed a play-off spot through the League of Nations. On top of that, Cyprus have never beaten Scotland in the 6 matches they have played against each other. The reverse fixture finished 2:1 so maybe Cyprus can use the home turf advantage and get a positive result against Scotland for the first time.
Since the outcome of this fixture is not very important, we are expecting an open match. The reverse fixture had 3 goals and we expect for something similar to happen. That’s why we are backing an Over 2.5 Goals outcome.
Azerbaijan vs Wales >> click here for live odds
The hosts have no chance to qualify for Euro 2020. As a matter of fact, they have been the only outsiders in this group which features several top nations. Wales on the other hand still have a chance to qualify but they will have to defeat Azerbaijan to remain in contention. In the reverse fixture, Wales narrowly won 2:1. Now they will be playing away from home which will make their task a bit harder.
Wales need a victory to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Euro 2020. However, they haven’t been playing at their best level and in the reverse fixture, they barely defeated Azerbaijan. For that reason, we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome.
Russia vs Belgium >> click here for live odds
Both sides qualified for the European Cup several rounds ago. As a matter of fact, Russia have lost only one match and it was against Belgium. The visitors have been the best side in the whole qualification cycle. They have scored an outstanding 30 goals while conceding only once. That one goal was conceded in the reverse fixture against Russia where they won 3:1. This means that Russia will have to defeat Belgium with a better result than 3:1 if they want to finish 1st in the group. With home turf on their side Russian fans will hope their national squad can walk away with a strong win.
This fixture has always resulted in goals. However, Russia has never beaten Belgium in any competition. That’s why we will back a Both Teams to Score outcome.
San Marino vs Kazakhstan >> click here for live odds
Both sides are outsiders in their group; however, this has been an awful qualification cycle for San Marino. They are the worst side in the whole competition as they have lost all matches while conceding 43 goals and not scoring a single one. In the reverse fixture, Kazakhstan defeated them 4:0 and something similar is expected to happen on Saturday.
San Marino are just not ready for such competitions. They don’t even have a professional squad which is why their results are not good. We are backing an Away Side – 1.75 Asian Handicap outcome.
Slovenia vs Latvia >> click here for live odds
The hosts have to win this match for hope to remain about qualification. However, they also need Austria to not win in their match. Latvia, on the other hand, are the outsiders of this group. They haven’t defeated anyone and have managed to score only two goals so far while not being able to get even a single draw. In the reverse fixture, they lost 0:5 to Slovenia and now the Balkan side gets to play at home.
It’s hard to look past Slovenia for this one. They are clear favorites and will definitely win the fixture. We are backing a – 2.75 Asian Handicap outcome.
Austria vs North Macedonia >> click here for live odds
The hosts need just a draw to secure qualification for the Euro 2020. Additionally, they already defeated Macedonia in the reverse fixture 1:4 even though they played away from home. The visitors on the other hand, are still statistically in the running but they will need to beat Austria first and then hope for other results to go their way as well. Austria have home turf advantage and it should help them get a win on Saturday.
The hosts managed to get an easy win in the reverse fixture even though they were playing away from home. They need at least a point in this fixture and we believe Austria won’t mess up this opportunity. We are backing an Over 2.5 Goals outcome.
Croatia vs Slovakia >> click here for live odds
The qualification outcome of this group won’t be decided until the very last match. The hosts are in pole position as they need just a point to qualify. However, if they happen to lose the last 2 matches, Croatia could end up out of the qualification cycle. Slovakia, on the other hand, need a win to keep their hopes of qualification alive. However, they did lose 0:4 to Croatia the last time they played them. This time, the hosts have an additional advantage and that’s playing on the HNK Rijeka stadium where Croatia have never lost a game.
Even though Croatia need just a point to qualify, they will be playing for all 3 points on Saturday. In the reverse fixture they scored 4 past Slovakia and why shouldn’t they do it again. We are backing the Home Team to Score Over 2.5 Goals.
Germany vs Belarus >> click here for live odds
Germany will qualify for the Euro 2020 if they get a better result than Northern Ireland in the 9th qualification round. It might not be a very difficult task because Northern Ireland have to face Netherlands. Germany won the reverse fixture 0:2 but they were playing away from home. Belarus lost their chance for qualification several rounds ago so they will be playing only for their pride.
Germany are clear favorites for this one, especially since their qualification status is still not totally confirmed. We are expecting a comfortable win for them which is why we are backing a – 1.75 Asian Handicap outcome.
Israel vs Poland >> click here for live odds
Poland have already guaranteed themselves spot in the Euro 2020. On top of that, they defeated Israel 4:0 when they played them the first time in this qualification cycle. Israel are out of the competition and they don’t have much to play for in the last 2 rounds. However, Poland haven’t won against Israel on their home turf since 1988 and the hosts will try to keep it that way.
Poland are favorites here but both sides don’t have a lot to play for in this fixture. Let’s hope that gives us an open match with a couple of goals. We are backing an Over 2.5 Goals outcome.
Northern Ireland vs Netherlands >> click here for live odds
Last but not least, we have probably the most exciting fixture of Saturday’s qualification games. The hosts need a win to remain in play for a Euro 2020 spot. However, they also need Germany to get a result worse than theirs on Saturday. On the other hand, the Dutch need just a draw in Belfast to secure qualification. In the reverse fixture, Netherlands defeated the hosts 3:1; however, now it’s Northern Ireland who will have home turf advantage and that might be enough to get a positive result.
This Dutch side should have more quality; however, even stronger sides have fallen in Belfast and Northern Ireland will be looking to take advantage of that fact. For that reason, we are backing a Both Teams to Score outcome for this one.
